Sustainable Virtual Framework

Developing an application based on the KerBlue architecture involves the assembly of components. The components are specified with help of an annotated meta-model. A reference implementation (RI) makes them practical, the latter being tested and validated with help of the Technology Compatibility Kit (TCK).

The set of components composing the development core of any (web) application is contained inside the Sustainable Virtual Framework (SVF) called Core Edition. This set was defined by BlueXML.

Third party actors can integrate the community. They can propose components which meet specific requirements they identified through a KSR following the KerBlue community process. At the close of this process, the final KSR defining the specifications, the reference implementation, and the technology compatibility kit is delivered. This process enables to enrich the virtual framework with elements defined in a community manner.
